Today at 4AM London Time Tom Oland, a kind sweet man who I never got to meet, but had so much fun chatting with and connecting with, died of complications with HIV/AIDS .

This is the first time I've lost someone to AIDS. I think I'm pretty lucky in that regard. His last message was to hold on to the ones that you love. He died surrounded by people who love him, and I will continue to remember him as the kind man he was.

I love you buddy, have a good time in heaven, I hear it's quite the party.

This is a fear of mine, as it pertains to my particular health condition.

I think it terrifies just about everyone, positive or not. Not a day goes by I don't think about it.

If there's one thing I have learned though is that AIDS is not a death sentence at all. While I can't imagine having it, I know several people who do, and keep it under control.

I have lost a family member to AIDS. It is so hard.. He had hemophilia which is a blood clotting disorder. His medications were basically blood that was had been spun down and the clotting factor removed.. Well he received tainted medicine. It is so hard to watch someone go through it..

I am so so sorry for your loss. I don't even know what to say.. I have been a emotional wreck this week with friends having illness and what not.. Believe it or not I read your post and started to cry thinking about anyone who has to go through the pain. Weather it be the person with the health condition or family and friends would would do anything to take the pain for that person.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family.. HUGS!!!!!
